MMOMFGames of the Week – December 7

Once again we approach that time of the week where new games roll in and we must make conscious decisions as consumers as to whether we buy, rent or pass. Luckily, I give my best college try each week to help educate you on what to expect for the week. So what’s on the docket for this week? We’ve got big titles like The Saboteur, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 5: Rise of the Pirate God; as well as our always popular Sleeper of the Week.

The Saboteur

EA and developers Pandemic Studios welcome gamers to experience a Nazi-occupied Paris in a satisfying open-world experience. This will be the first open-world gameplay to take place in Paris, where gamers can scale the Eiffel Tower, snipe from the Arch De Triumf and even tippy-toe at Notre Dame. With the ability to take the role of the saboteur, players will gain intel, enlist help from the French underground and join in the Resistance. The game looks to be great, has breasts in it and should provide the action needed in a lull of hot titles from the last few weeks.

Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

The latest handheld Zelda title features link with a new partner in crime, the Phantom, a set of armor that responds to your every command. The game features an all new adventures where Link faces a plethora of new quests, puzzles and even a new form of transportation: train. Similar to The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, players can use the stylus on the touchscreen to guide link and partner, as well as mark the minimap. Do yourself a favor and if you own a DS, go get the game.

Silent Hill

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories

The next rendition of Silent Hill brings a new level of fear to the franchise with an updated control scheme and utilizes a cellphone based UI component that acts as a story teller and quest guider. An in depth psyche profile system following the Keirsey personality profile guides action in-game with user-based decisions that affect the outcome of the game and gameplay. If you’ve got a Wii, then you should definitely check out this title as it promises a new level of horror and suspense improving on an already great franchise.

Monkey Island

Tales of  Monkey Island Chapter 5: Rise of the Pirate God

Did you read the title? Monkey. Island. Pirate. These are a few of my favorite things! LucasArts does a great job with each chapter, so if you’re into the adventure series, or haven’t picked up the others yet, join in and have fun! Monkey Island, ohhhh yeahhhhh!

Sleeper Pick of the Week

I like to highlight the exciting, fresh games that fall of most gamer’s radars each week with previous examples such as Agatha Christie: ABC Murders, Jonas: Street Beatdown 2k10, Coldstone: Scoop It Up, and Alvin & the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel. This week’s title looks to not disappoint. Master your beauty techniques to unlock new treatments and mini-games in Salon Superstar.
