Just Cause 2 stunts take the game to new limits

When considering why Just Cause 2 looks so damn appealing, one must ponder the elements involved in the game: high speed chases, base jumping off skyscrapers, parachuting onto airplanes, grapple-hooking a water tower and pulling it to the helicopter you’re hanging onto. All of these things sound like some of the highest intensity found in games currently out on the market. The fact that they are all wrapped into one gorgeous looking title shows the potential of one of the most highly anticipated games of the first half of 2010.
Just Cause 2 developers document the insane action in a recent Vehicle Stunts Developer Diary found on GameTrailers. The documented Humvee crashes, motorcycle jumps and sports car destruction found in the diary expose the nature of detail put into the game, but one can only hope the story and controls can keep up with the visual masterpiece.
I’ve already watched the above diary about three or four times and am dying to experience it for myself when a demo becomes available. We’ve got our fingers crossed that Avalanche Studios can deliver a compelling and engrossing story to go along with the wonders that are Just Cause 2′s visuals when the game hits shelves on March 23 Stateside. What do you think? Do you believe Just Cause 2 will be a Game of the Year nominee in 2010? What’s your favorite aspect of the title and why? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
