Contest: Win a copy of Assassin’s Creed II from MMOMFG

*UPDATE: This contest is now officially closed. We appreciate all of the entries, Facebook fans, Twitter followers, newsletterers, IntenseDebaters and visitors in general. We are tallying up all entries now and will announce the winners tomorrow morning. If you are announced as a winner, we’ll be contracting you to let you know you won. Congrats to the winners and thanks for entering all!
Since starting MMOMFG a little while back, we’ve had an amazing response from the community. To say thanks (and because we’re full of boozy eggnog), we’re giving away a THREE free copies of Assassin’s Creed II just in time for the holidays! Entering is ridiculously easy, and we have a bunch of different ways to get extra chances to win. Make sure to use your real email address in your comment in case you’re picked as the winner.
You can enter up to 4 times. The more times you enter, the more chances you have to win. Here are the different ways you can enter:
- Sign up to get the daily MMOMFG newsletter here: MMOMFG Newsletter
- Follow us on Twitter here: @MMOMFG
- Become a fan on Facebook
- Register an account with IntenseDebate.com so you can join the discussion community on MMOMFG.
Bonus: Test of skill- For a chance to get 5 extra entries to the contest, leave us a comment telling us what time/place setting you’d like to see for the next Assassin’s Creed, and why. We’ll pick our favorite comment and give that person 5 extra chances to win!
To get entered, be sure to leave us a comment on this post and let us know which of these methods you used to enter so we can get you the full number of entries! If you follow us on Twitter, be sure to leave your Twitter ID in the comment. For each of those actions you take, you’ll get an entry into the contest. Please note that this contest is only open to US residents.
Update: Now we have three chances to win! Ubisoft generously donated PS3 and PSP copies of the game for us to give away, in addition to the original Xbox or PS3 version we were going to give away. So now we’ll be picking three random winners! The first winner gets their choice of any of the platforms, the second winner gets their pick out of what’s left, and the third winner gets the remaining copy.
That’s it! The winners will be randomly selected from all entries after December 10, 2009, at 11:59pm CST. The winners will be notified the next day, following the updated method above. It could be you (or your mom)! If you aren’t sure whether it’s worth your time to enter the contest, let it be known that the winner can have their choice of the title on the PlayStation 3, PSP, or XBOX 360. If you already own a copy, sign up for the contest anyways, as the game would make a great gift for that sibling you hate spending money on. Even if you don’t enter this contest, be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to hear about any upcoming contests and giveaways. Best of luck, and welcome to the MMOMFG community!

I'm signed up via Newletter, Twitter, Intense Debate and I will be a fan on facebook at about 8pm eastern when I get off work, lol. I will offer a suggestion for a new location, but I haven't played AC2 and I didn't get far in AC1 so I don't know if my ideal time period has already been used. I would suspect the Spanish Inquisition would be a very good time period for this game type, you don't see it used much in games, and I would say that since this storyline is revolving around a European stage and death-dealing, I would say it would be a nice setting, I think, for some very shady deals, nice storylines, and backdrops.
Posted on December 3rd, 2009 at 6:10 pm
Sorry I kept editing this, lol. I kept thinking of more stuff that would be pertinent.
Posted on December 3rd, 2009 at 6:20 pm
no worries man, keep it comin. i think the spanish inquisition would be a good time period for it too. I've got some ideas for some crazy off the wall periods, but am keeping my mouth shut to see what readers come up with.

Howdy! I signed up for the newsletter and as a fan on Facebook. My name is Alex Ventura, and my email address is xanderzeshredmeister@gmail.com.
I feel that the next Assassin's Creed should somehow try to take in Asian influences rather that so much European settings. We all obviously know that the best kinds of assassins are ninjas. If you disagree with this statement, don't bother turning around. There's a ninja already there to make you think twice.
I know that feudal China had LOTS of corruption and killing in the dynasties that were in the first or second centuries (I think that time?), so lots of blood was spilt around that time for power.
Posted on December 3rd, 2009 at 10:48 pm
Very nice!
Posted on December 3rd, 2009 at 11:11 pm
I agree Ninja's would be great, but they already tried that… Tenchu, ugh. Oh and my Twitter is Slipgate.
Posted on December 3rd, 2009 at 11:18 pm
hi, the next assassin's creed should take place in a white-trash titty-bar (yes, that's an oxymoron) somewhere in the south – maybe even in mexico if we can throw in a donkey show… i know we're supposed to elaborate on why we'd like to see this location chosen for the next edition, but if i really shouldn't have to explain my logic for this one – i've already lost.
thank you – and i'll be expecting my free copy by the holidays. you know where to reach me.

Personally, I'd love to see Assassin's Creed 3 take place sometime in japan. Would love to have some crazy ninja stuff going on. A lot of potential there.

Facebooked, Newslettered, Intense Debated, Twittered.
Victorian / Industrial Revolution London or Paris would offer a unique setting. The wonders of invention vs. old world; aristocratic society contrasted with the increasingly evident slums.. A great time period and perfect landscape.

I agree, this would be a totally awesome setting for it. The close quarters of building fit in nicely. You could even factor in the "London Particulars" that happened then- the fogs that were so thick you couldn't see through them, and that were so choked with smoke and crap they literally killed thousands of people. Sounds great to me.

I had a chance before to play AC1 and was just stoked. Can't wait to have a chance to play AC2. I think an absolutely awesome setting for a potential AC3 game would be in Ireland/Scotland during the British occupation. Think something Braveheart-ish with a character like William Wallace only assassin style. I think a great storyline is there with trying to covertly cripple the occupational hierarchy and army leadership in an effort to aid in regaining the country's freedom. I think the landscape of the country, towns, villages, and castles would just be awesome and majestic.
Thanks for the chance!!

Actually the 3rd one is supposed to be set around 2012, and you play as Desmond Miles after his genetic memories unlock his ancestor's Assassin abilities escaping from Abstergo and then preventing the Templars from taking over the world.

I would like to see the next Assassin's Creed take place in Feudal Japan. Obviously a ninja is a perfect assassin, but I think a samurai could pull it off too… or better yet both. I've actually wanted a game similar to Assassin's Creed to be based in Feudal Japan.

I signed up for your newsletter, and I think the next Assassin’s Creed should be set in Victorian London. How awesome would it be to chase Jack the Ripper and hide from Sherlock Holmes (even though he’s fictional)?

Actually The 3rd one (and last since it was announced as a trilogy) is supposed to take place mainly around the year 2012, Desmond's genetic memories unlock his ancestors' assassin abilities and he escapes from Abstergo and hunts down all the templars that are trying to take over the world with the various pieces of eden. Collecting each piece along the way until it all comes to a head and he has to destroy the pieces themselves before their power overwhelms him.
