A Payneful truth: Max Payne 3 delayed

Max Payne 3 has been delayed and is now expected to drop sometime next fall.  This is the second time publisher Take-Two Interactive has delayed the title; after an initial release timeframe of winter 2009, the game was then pushed to the first quarter of 2010 last summer.

Take-Two, publisher of modern classics like the Grand Theft Auto series, BioShock, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, revealed this in a fiscal report that wasn’t exactly glowing.  Apparently (hey, I’m no financial analyst), the company expected better of its MLB series this fall and those disappointing sales have turned into a need to push Max Payne 3 out a bit more.

While surely a disappointment for many fans, the fact remains that 2010 looks to be a big one for Take-Two.  After opening the year with BioShock 2 in early February, the publishing house will drop Red Dead Redemption, Mafia II, and Max Payne 3.  Not too shabby.
