FIFA Ultimate Team dated for February

In a press release put out by EA Sports today, the company has announced a DLC pack for FIFA 10 is set to drop in February of 2010. This pack will contain the FIFA Ultimate Team game mode, a mode that made it’s debut in FIFA 09 around the same time last year.
FIFA 10 Producer Paul Hossack said (in press release form) “We now have over 7,000 players from 27 leagues available, from which gamers will craft one or multiple squads to show their mastery of the revamped, more realistic chemistry system, and compete in tournaments with exciting requirements and rewards. On top of that, we’ll release new tournaments and other updates regularly to keep the experience fresh and exciting.”
I spent a bit of time in Ultimate Team for FIFA 09, and had two major gripes about the mode: a lack of players from Major League Soccer and an abundance of online players whose teams were beyond stacked and nearly impossible to defeat.
Is MLS one of the 27 leagues included? Will I be able to bring stateside stars like Shalrie Joseph, Stuart Holden, and Landon Donovan into my team? Will I again be frustrated by teenyboppers on XBOX Live with World Best XI teams thrashing me with pre-pubescant voices? I’ll have to wait until February to find out.
Oh, also included in today’s announcement was the startling revelation that the game has sold really well – over 4.5 million copies since launch, to be exact. About as startling a revelation as that time I found out that ‘gullible’ was NOT, in fact, removed from the dictionary.
