Assassin’s Creed II DLC announced, little info given
A most mysterious email just hit our inbox. Big news involved, but few details have been sent regarding the upcoming DLC for Assassin’s Creed 2.
The DLC, the first coming in January and the second coming in February, is listed to be over 1 GB in size. Price has yet to be announced, but DLC that big is very enticing. The first DLC is named the Battle of Forli, while the second is titled Bonfire of the Vanities
Forli is a city in northern Italy, cities contain buildings, and buildings allow Ezio to run around assassinating whomever he pleases. So I’m guessing a big chunk of that 1 GB is a whole new city to explore. +1 to Ubisoft so far.
As for the Bonfire of the Vanities, quoting Wikipedia:
“The Bonfire of the Vanities refers to the burning of objects that are deemed to be occasions of sin. The most famous one took place on 7 February 1497, when supporters of the Dominican priest Girolamo Savonarola collected and publicly burned thousands of objects like cosmetics, art, and books in Florence, Italy, on the Shrove Tuesday festival.”
That date falls right in line with our story in AC 2 so don’t be surprised if you’re trying to stop, participating in, or just observing this “occasion of sin”.
When more details emerge for this group of DLC, we’ll be sure to post as AC 2 is a favorite among the MMOMFG staff. It seems like Ubisoft is giving us more than just new weapons and outfits to download and something more venerable to sink our teeth into. It’s also good to see these DLC packs come so quickly after the game has been released. What I hate most is when DLC comes out for a game I have no interest in six months or a year later.
