An unexpected announcement graced our mailboxes today as Ubisoft released information about a new Prince of Persia title coming next may. Though I figured a sequel was in the works, I sort of forgot about the series with Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell stewing in my brain. With the Prince of Persia movie coming out in May, it’ll be interesting to see if there are any tie-ins.

Ubisoft’s 2008 reboot of the title did pretty well and, if anything, was a beautiful game to play. It’ll be interesting to see what they’re bringing to the table this time around. Looks like we’ll find out during the VGA awards December 12th.

SAN FRANCISCO – November 30, 2009 – Today Ubisoft announced that Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands(TM) video game is in development and is scheduled to be released May 2010 for consoles and handhelds.
