MMOMFGames of the Week – November 23
Never before has there been such a disparity in comparison between two weeks of gaming. Last week had stellar titles such as New Super Mario Bros., Assassin’s Creed II, Left 4 Dead 2, God of War Collection, Tony Hawk: Ride and SingStar: Latino! This week the titles are few and far between. To use an overly simplistic cliche, the gaming Gods hath released their magical seed upon us last week and now they rest. I’m still busy cleaning the seed off myself (read: trying to beat Assassin’s Creed II), so no complaints from me. My wallet is definitely thankful for the week of relaxation during the holiday break.
There are still a few worthy titles capable of tantalizing and titillating (if you’re into that sort of thing) this week, so let’s see who is on tap:

First off, this isn’t exactly a new title, but everyone who owns Borderlands better be downloading the DLC content that comes out on Tuesday, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. To go along with one of the best new IP titles of the year featuring madly addictive gameplay and progression, the additional content such as new areas, extra hours of play and ZOMBIES, should have you saying “Yes please!”

Then thereĀ is Madden NFL Arcade. This arcade football title is out in perfect timing for the Thanksgiving holiday where turkey-coma induced couch potatoes will be left with nothing but thoughts of pigskin and gaming for the rest of the weekend. What better way to spend it than playing some NFL Blitz? Crap! Crap! I meant to say Madden NFL Arcade. The title should be fun and since you’re only going to get the NFL-licensed players from EA these days, what’s another chunk of cash going to Big Brother EA?

Numerous handheld titles are available this week which may make your travels a bit more reasonable if you’ve got road trips or flights in your holiday plans. The key titles worthy of picking up, or at least renting, would be Tekken 6 for PSP, Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain for DS and Hello Kitty Party for DS. Wait, that last one slipped in there. Hello Kitty Party isn’t even our sleeper pick of the week, but just a great Fing game from my favorite line of girl’s backpacks and notepads.
Geez, I’m really struggling to find games here that are worthy of even trying out. Basically, let’s just say that you should take this week to recoup and finish up titles like AC2, L4D2 and Dragon Age. I owe you my sleeper pick of the week, so without further adieu, here we go:

Coldstone: Scoop It Up takes the cake (flavored ice cream) for Sleeper Pick of the Week. Whether you’re trying to top your best serving time from when you worked at Coldstone in high school or are trying to build massive forearms like the girls who work at Coldstone, then you’re in for a sweet treat that is this title. I could go on and on about the beauty of girls with Coldstone forearms, but I don’t want to make our female readers jealous. If you’re a parent, this is the perfect title to get your little whipper-snappers, as there is nothing more important than preparing kids to enter the workforce. With this economy, you never know when the second income will come in handy, and think about how much free ice cream the employee of the month gets having perfected their scooping talents by playing Coldstone: Scoop It Up! Just remember that the game likely won’t teach personal skills, so make sure to go over customer service before sending them on their way to their first job interview.
That does it for this week’s MMOMFGames of the Week! Check back next Monday for some games actually worthy of purchasing, or comment below and let me know if I left any games off the list that you think I’m a complete scrud for not including. Have a great week of gaming!

I can only say "…"
I mean Coldstone has some awesome ice cream, but who came up with the idea for the game? Here's to hoping it's faker than Never Back Down's scene with the elephants boxing each other.
