Gamestop pre-order deal brings Wesker to Lost Planet 2

Capcom has issued a press release today stating that if gamers pre-order Lost Planet 2 at Gamestops around the country, they will get access to use Resident Evil’s Albert Wesker as a an exclusive playable skin. With a ton of buzz around this exciting sequel, it seems like a no brainer to go ahead and pre-order your copy to ensure you gain access to the always cool Wesker. The pre-order also grants access to a small, but powerful Revolver that can provide “one-shot kills” that aren’t available from the game’s stock handgun.

Herein lies the problem I have with exclusive pre-order content. Some people prefer sites like Amazon, Newegg, Ebay, or Brick and Mortar stores other than Gamestop, but are limited to where they get their games due to these exclusive offers. I really want to play as Wesker but am torn (although this does seem like a weird option for Lost Planet 2, but still a fun little tweak to the game). Does it frustrate you also that your decision on buying a game or pre-ordering is pretty much limited to who is offering which “exclusive” feature? Like with Warhammer Online, Dragon Age: Origins and other similar titles, I chose where to get my copy based on who provided the better free perk.

The title is slated for release for PS3 and XBOX 360 on February 23, 2010, so get your calendars ready and your pre-order priorities in order.
