Project Natal rumored for November 2010 launch date

Project Natal, Microsoft’s innovative motion control system unveiled at this year’s E3, will hit the market in November of next year, according to a report from UK gaming news site MCV. Apparently Microsoft will be moving 5 million units starting next November at a sub-$80 price tag.
This information comes from a series of closed-door meetings Microsoft has been holding with UK publishers and studios in an attempt to drum up developer support for the project. MCV claims that sources within these meetings have confirmed a November 2010 time frame for release, as well as a few other details. Pricing for Natal, a source of wonder amongst industry journalists since it’s unveiling, will be surprisingly low. Shipping as both a stand-alone peripheral and as a console bundle, Natal looks to be coming in at under $80. MCV quotes a publishing source as saying that Microsoft’s aim for Natal’s price tag is to try “to get as close as possible to ‘impulse buy.’”
Further details include Microsoft’s plans to produce 5 million units of Natal for the launch and publish 14 new games around the launch as well. How many of these titles will come from the 12 shops who announced their plans to develop around Natal at last month’s Tokyo Game Show – Activision, Bethesda, Capcom, Disney, EA, Konami, MTV, Namco Bandai, Sega, Square Enix, THQ and Ubisoft – is not clear.
