Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition Content coming as DLC

RE5_Header

For those that were excited about the Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition trailer, get ready to thank your fellow RE fan. It seems Capcom was smart enough to run a poll for fans of Resident Evil 5 and asked whether or not they’d like to shell out another $40-$60 for the alternative edition, or if they’d rather spend (most likely) half that amount on DLC version.  Smart people around the world voted as I would have and elected for a DLC verision of the alternative edition.  Which means you’ll be able to download the extra 2-3 hours (estimated guess from all accounts) of content instead of going out and buying a whole new disc.

For those unaware, Capcom released a trailer during the Tokyo game show this year that showed more “survival horror”  and less “bang bang boom boom” Resident Evil. The added content will take you to the Spencer estate in a flashback where Chris and Jill will undoubtedly find keys, turns cranks, avoid spiked ceilings, and hopefully encounter tons of crimson zombies.  Hopefully it’ll also answer how Wesker didn’t die from falling out of a building…

Those who haven’t seen the trailer can do so here
