Bayonetta rises in the east, dated for the west

Bayonetta, the highly anticipated action title from studio Platinum Games and publisher SEGA, launched in Japan today. But we’re not in the land of schoolgirls, sushi, and used-panty-vending machines – we’re in the good ol’ US of A, the land of cougars, burgers, and sweet-treat-vending machines. Don’t sweat it, alongside the launch of Bayonetta in Japan the game has been dated for a western release.

According to a press release issued by SEGA today, Bayonetta will hit stateside XBOX 360 and PS3 consoles on January 5th, followed up by a January 8th touchdown in Europe.  The title, headed up by Devil May Cry creator Hideki Kamiya, is a third person action game that fans of the Devil May Cry series will find very familiar.
