xbox-live

From today’s update by Major Nelson, there will be an XBOX Live update going out over the internets today for XBOX 360 users; however, it will focus on the WPA2 update for the XBOX 360 Wireless Network Adapter and not include Facebook, Twitter, etc. Despite the slightly boring update, all XBOX Live users will still have to suffer the same downtime that should only benefit the new Wi-Fi adapter users coming next month.

Do note that servers will be down for a brief period and if you were currently playing, you may get logged out. Make sure to finish up that FIFA game or Borderlands mission quick or you could face an immediate disconnect. Fair warning! The faster, flashier Wi-Fi adapter is slated for release next month.

Depends on the type of router you have.
If you don't have an 802.11n router then don't bother getting it.
But, if you do happen to have an n router you'll be able to get faster speeds and a longer distance (so more likely a better connection).

MMOF Andrew no you dont need a new one.. its for all of those gamers that had shitty service they are making a wireless adapter to support a WPA2 type connection…. which is when you set up a encryption on network to enable faster data transfers and , makes it harder for others to log on to your wireless netork. If you dont have your connection set to WPA / WPA2 then it doesnt matter.

  5. Dustin Said,

Andrew, I'd say pick up a new router and the wireless N router. I've been to your place and the distance you are from your router and the amount of people sharing one wireless router, you could definitely use the faster speeds and greater distance.

  9. Justin Said,

I think it really depends on your wireless setup.
Though if you need to use wireless I'd recommend these as another solution.
I have them and they work great.

  11. Justin Said,

Well, if you want you might want to try the equipment I linked, it's a little bit more expensive than the wireless usb device but it's also faster.
