This week’s MMOMFGames of the Week feature another round of heavy hitters. First off, my game of the year, due to bias, perhaps, but nonetheless the fastest selling sports title ever, FIFA Soccer 10. Followed closely by Borderlands and Way of the Samurai 3 looking to crack the sales charts themselves. All of the titles look to please certain types of audiences, whether you looking for a game of footie with your mate, to shoot up post-apocalyptic baddies or to carve up some samurai henchmen. The question at hand is: Which title is worth your hard earned greenbacks?

FIFA Soccer 10

This title has received non-stop attention from game sites around the world, but we here at MMOMFG could not be happier that tonight at midnight FIFA 10 will be on the shelves. Those lucky bastards around the world have had this title for nearly a month, but now it is our time! My FIFA 09 disk won’t read anymore due to the amount of time I’ve put into the Be-A-Pro, Manager Mode and Online Play modes. As seen in my FIFA 10 demo impressions, this game is likely to be the top sports title of the year and possibly the best soccer game ever made. I’ll be the judge of that in about 3 days after playing my first season of Manager Mode and testing every other mode in the game thoroughly.

Borderlands

If post-apocalyptic shoot-em-ups are your thing, then Borderlands looks to be the title for you. This game has more guns than you can shake a gun at. This title has quite a few of us at MMOMFG pondering how good it will be since it utilizes RPG elements in leveling and loot drops, but the final verdict should be in soon. With a plethora of shooters coming out in the next month or so, Left 4 Dead 2, Modern Warfare 2 and Duke Nukem Forever (psyche), Borderlands better bring the A-game.

Way of the Samurai 3

The samurai legacy is in your hands with Way of the Samurai 3. Tossed into the mix of a dynasty in the grips of a regional war, all options are in your hands for how you affect the empire. Throw your sword in the mix between warring clans or simply hit on Asian hotties, it’s your call. This game franchise has provided fun in the past, but due to the limited gameplay videos and cutscenes taken from the game, we aren’t sold that this game will be worth your hard earned sheckles.
