Even XBOX’s Major Nelson can respect PS3 and Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2

Much like the rest of the Twitter community, shock was to be had when I came across a tweet from Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb, the XBOX Live community mastermind,  earlier today:

“I’ll have to pick up UnCharted 2 this week. It’s being very well received. Congrats to @Naughty_Dog on a job well done!”

If you’re asking why this seems weird, it is simply because Major Nelson is the voice of the XBOX Live community and one of the strongest strongest proponents touting XBOX 360 over PlayStation 3. The strangest part is that this is on the heels of news that Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 2 thanked Halo and Call of Duty in the game’s credits.

All of this cross-console love is going to make me puke, or respect them more. I don’t know what is going to happen! However, I do feel that Hyrb expressing his interest in the PlayStation 3 exclusive title is a bit like if President Obama said, “Hey I like what those #NorthKoreans are doing with missile technology, maybe I’ll pick one up this weekend,” over Twitter. Maybe not, but you get my point. This is a strange statement unless Major Nelson is about to demand a trade to PlayStation for a higher salary. Good old Twitter trade-bait.
