Check out Borderlands skill trees early

Borderlands head

*Update – A correction on dates: Console-version scheduled for release on October 20. PC version scheduled for release on October 26.

Borderlands, Gearbox Software’s sci-fi shooter/RPG title, hits stateside shelves on October 20th for the PC and the 23rd for consoles.  If you can’t wait that long to get your first taste of the game, head on over to BorderlandsTheGame.com and check out the Borderlands’ Character Calculator.

The Character Calculator lets you see the full skill trees of the game’s four characters: Roland, Lilith, Brick, and Mordecai.

Little snippets like this are great ways to drum up hype and support for a game in the days leading up to launch.  While the Borderlands’ Character Calculator can’t hold a flame to BioWare’s Dragon Age: Origins Character Creator that Justin wrote about yesterday,  it’s still a cool way to get/keep gamers like me interested in the title about a week out from launch.

Are you looking forward to Borderlands, the stylized post-apocalyptic RPG/shooter?  Or is the straight RPG set up of Dragon Age: Origins more to your liking?  Let us know which you’ll buy first and why in the comments section! Borderlands is looking nice…
