DJ Hero will feature Daft Punk in byte format
Whether you enjoy rhythm games like Guitar Hero or Rock Band, or despise the genre of games like editor Andrew does, you have to admit DJ Hero looks pretty fun. I’m all about mixing it up on a video game turntable as much as the next guy and was pleasantly surprised with the inclusion of Daft Punk as playable characters, as well as featuring a number of their tracks mixed with hip hop songs.
Over the weekend, Activision announced Daft Punk would make their first digital appearance in a video game. Being some of the biggest DJs and recording artists in the world, this should please quite a few gamers out there who are a fan of their music. As mentioned earlier, Andrew hates the rhythm games out there, but he is a huge fan of Daft Punk. Does this mean he’ll go pre-order the game now? Absolutely not, but he may at least give it a shot… Although, he likely won’t.
Check out some of the images from the game, as well as the Daft Punk songs featured in the game:
· Daft Punk “Around the World” vs. Young MC “Bust A Move”
· Daft Punk “Da Funk” vs. NASA “Strange Enough ft. Karen O, ODB and Fatlip”
· Daft Punk “Da Funk” vs. Queen “Another One Bites the Dust”
· Daft Punk “Robot Rock” vs. Hashim “Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)” – Produced and mixed by The Scratch Perverts
· Daft Punk “Robot Rock” vs. Queen “We Will Rock You”
· Daft Punk “Short Circuit” vs. Boogie Down Productions “Jack Of Spades”
· Daft Punk “Technologic” vs. Gary Numan “Cars”
· Daft Punk “Television Rules The Nation” vs. No Doubt “Hella Good”
Do you have any interest in this game? If so, what will your DJ name be? Having previously chop-chopped it up on PLAYSTATION’s Frequency with co-editor Brandon, he was DJ Rob Gordo and I was Dr. DJ Mr. SandEars. However, I’ll likely make multiple avatars including DJ Fruity Booty and DJ Tanner.
